- No. This conference is being paid for by a grant from USDA. Undergraduate college students are invited to attend at NO COST to them. Conference registration, hotel, and meals are included. The only expense that attendees need to cover is there transportation to and from UC Davis.. If students choose to commute to and from the conference, they will need to pay for their daily parking pass on campus: $18/day. Students may need to pay for bus fare if they choose to ride the Unitrans bus to the conference from the hotel each day.
- No. All travel to and from UC Davis must be paid by the attendees. If students choose to park on campus during the event, daily parking passes are available for purchase at a rate of $18/day.
- Attendees will be staying at a hotel that is located on near the main UC Davis campus. Students may walk, ride a bike, drive a car, or take the Unitrans bus to the Vet School campus from the hotel.

- Yes. Every student who completes all conference activities before and during the event will receive a $500 stipend. This money will be paid to the students following the conference.
- Conference attendees do not need to have any prior experience with on-farm biosecurity in order to attend this event. However, this event will be most relevant to students who are studying animal science, food animal agriculture, animal husbandry, agriculture, food science, food safety, veterinary medicine, public health, biology, or One Health.
- Conference attendees should bring a laptop or tablet device that will be used when working on group projects and presentations. Phones or digital cameras may also be helpful when gathering information on the UC Davis dairy farm.
- Attendees will be participating in learning experiences in the field on campus at the UC Davis dairy and UC Davis School of Veterinary medicine. Attendees should wear comfortable, CLOSED TOE shoes to all field experiences. Long pants, hats, sunscreen, and other sun protection are recommended.
- Students who complete all learning activities and lectures prior to, and during the conference will receive a certificate of completion from UC Davis WIFSS. The conference completion certificate does not carry college credit; however, it represents valuable work-based learning experience. Participation demonstrates practical knowledge of biosecurity and food safety practices, making it a strong addition to a resume for students pursuing careers in agriculture, animal health, and related fields.

- Registration is limited to 50 undergraduate students to ensure a high-quality, interactive learning experience with meaningful opportunities for small-group collaboration and engagement with instructors.
